"VIOLENCE UNSILENCED"

This Domestic Violence blog I developed was created with the sole intention of shedding light on the epidemics of domestic violence and sexual assault by giving their survivors a voice and sharing my own personal story of my abuse with you.
Hopefully this will reach out to someone in need and give you the courage to escape.

This site is not intended to take the place of a true domestic violence advocacy website, such as the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. If you need help, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) Please make sure it is safe for you to be here. Take note of the pink “quick escape” buttons on the right hand sidebar at the top, middle, and bottom of the page.

Clicking these buttons will instantly take you to a blank Google page, but you will still need to erase your browsing history. Even this is not a complete fix; Computer use can be monitored and is impossible to completely clear. If you are in danger, please use a safer computer, call your local hotline, and/or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233). Be safe, be careful and be brave my friends, you can do this, make a stance…say with me….” NO MORE VIOLENCE,NO MORE VIOLENCE,NO MORE VIOLENCE”!!!!!!!

I found you via the BlogLuxe Most Inspiring Blog contest, and thought I should stop in and introduce you to Violence UnSilenced. But I see you've already met.

Thanks for posting the video and linking to VU. It's a labor of love for those who work on it and a safe place for those who write the stories published there. All I'd add to what you've already said is that you need to see the video and read the stories whether you're a survivor or not. Because we all have a dog in this fight; victims and non-victims alike. And as those who have not suffered refuse to not-see anymore, we begin to see progress.

How long did your own story go on while people around you looked the other way? That's as big a part of the mission -- my mission anyway -- as anything VU does.

I felt literally sick reading the news account you posted below. But the courage you displayed in getting yourself and the others out is as uplifting as the stories of abuse are sickening. Bless you.

Do come and visit Violence UnSilenced often. Your input would be very much appreciated, and I'm sure you know how helpful it can be to know that someone believes you.

Thanks again for your support!
